Halcali

Halcali (ハルカリ Harukari), stylized as HALCALI, is a Japanese pop hip-hop duo consisting of members Halca (born April 21, 1988) and Yucali (born July 18, 1987) from Meguro, Tokyo, Japan. Its name is a (a portmanteau of Halca ( ハルカ Haruka?) and Yucali ( ユカリ Yukari?)) Their debut album, Halcali Bacon, reached #5 on the Oricon charts, making it the first album by a female hip-hop artist to enter the top ten in Japanese history.

Halcali also made their American debut in May 2008 as the musical guests of honor at the Chicago Japanese culture, manga and anime convention entitled Anime Central. They performed again in America at Central Park, New York City on June 1, 2008 as part of a Japan Day Festival as part of a Japanese tourism campaign.

On May 26, 2010, they released their fourth album album, Tokyo Groove.

The new style

In winter 2003, Halcali released their fourth single, the Christmas-themed "Strawberry Chips" (ストロベリーチップス). This single continued to show the fluctuation between rap and J-pop.

After the release of "Strawberry Chips", Halcali's visual style shifted, along with the layout and lyrical style of their songs. Their fifth single, "Marching March" (マーチングマーチ?), was the first to showcase this new style. This change in style is attributed to Halcali's coming-of-age, however it also represents the changing of fads that occurred in Japanese teens at the time and was necessary to retain their fanbase.

Their sixth single, "Baby Blue!", was an instant cult hit. The album art and video featured the character Hanpanda, a trend by Japanese artist Nagi Noda, which has since become popular.

Progression in Sound & the 4th Album

Halcali's sound has been progressively and markedly different from their period of inception- initially being focused upon peppy, high-energy beats with equally fast and furious lyrics, moving onto more creative songs which seem to weave between genres and sounds, a la 音樂ノススメ (Ongaku no Susume), and more particularly サイボーグ俺達 (Cyborg Oretachi), which included musical genres ranging from rap, pop, electrocore and rock.

As Halca & Yucali have matured, they have taken on the role of writing their own rhymes & lyrics and composing their own music. Their 3rd album, サイボーグ俺達 (Cyborg Oretachi), featured many tracks which were written or co-written by Halcali. Every single after this album has also been written by or co-written by Halcali as well.

The girls are currently playing various lives to promote their music. They're also hard at work on their upcoming 4th album; their blogs also hint that they've been in the studio writing new songs.

Biography

Early life

Yui was born in Fukuoka, Japan. She grew up in a single parent family and does not have any memory of her father. She states that she has always been close to music; be it from her mother's car stereo or the radio, she would remember the tunes and sing along. By the time she was in elementary school she thought she would like to become a singer.

During her third year in middle school, under her mother's influence, Yui began a journal of her everyday feelings and poetry. By the time she was in high school, she was writing songs.While in high school, she worked part-time to help pay for tuition. Always busy, she thought there was no longer a road to achieving her dreams of a music career. Eventually she became ill.While in hospital, she was overcome with desire to make music. She decided that school and music could not coexist. Upon leaving the hospital she encountered a live street performance and expressed her desire to pursue a musical career to the band, Bianco Nero, at the end of the concert. Bianco Nero advised Yui to join a private music school. Yui soon dropped out of her high school and began to study guitar and songwriting at a juku in her hometown of Fukuoka. Aspiring to become a professional, she took to street performing at Fukuoka's Tenjin Station. These street performances helped Yui to overcome her shyness.

Initial career

Her professional career began in March 2004 when, at the recommendation of her juku instructors, she applied for an audition hosted by Sony Music Japan. Despite the audition rule that a participant could only perform two songs, Yui was allowed to sing three. She first sang "Why Me" (a song later included in her debut single), followed by "It's Happy Line" and "I Know". The judges gave her the maximum score, causing a fierce scramble among record labels to sign her. Because "I Know" was incomplete at the time, the judges were able to get a glimpse of what would later be dubbed "Yui-go", or Yui-speak (Yui語 in Japanese), nonsensical English hummed to a tune during her songwriting process — an example of Yui-go can be found in the film Midnight Sun when Yui is working on the song "Goodbye Days".

On December 24, 2004, she released her debut single "It's Happy Line" under indie label Leaflet Records, coupled with the track "I Know". The pressing was limited to only 2,000 copies in her home area.

From Me to You (2005–2006)

Upon leaving her hometown in Fukuoka for Tokyo, Yui wrote the song "Feel My Soul" as a tribute to her hometown. She initially had planned its release on an indie label. However, when the song caught the ears of Fuji TV producer Mr. Yamaguchi, who happened to see the demo video clip, he claimed that Yui's voice haunted him so much that he went out of his way to visit the recording studio by himself. Fuji Television's primetime drama Fukigen na Gene used Yui's debut track as an insert song.

On February 23, Yui released her first major debut single, "Feel My Soul". The music in Fukigen na Gene was based on her songs such as "Feel My Soul" and "It's Happy Line". With the publicity the drama tie-in drew in, "Feel My Soul" managed to sell over 100,000 copies and managed to chart at number 8 on Oricon Weekly Charts in its first week. Her next three singles, "Tomorrow's Way" (theme song for the Japanese movie, "Hinokio"), "Life" (fifth ending song for a popular anime, Bleach), and "Tokyo" did not chart as high as Feel My Soul did and were only moderately successful in comparison.

After the release of four singles, Yui released her debut album, titled From Me to You, a moderate success with sales of more than 200,000 copies.

Can't Buy My Love (2006–2007)

Yui made her acting debut in the full-length Japanese feature film Midnight Sun (Taiyou no uta, タイヨウのうた), which opened on June 17, 2006. The film was screened at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival. Yui attended the Japan Academy Prize and received the Best Newcomer Award for Midnight Sun. Prior to the release of the movie, Yui released her fifth single "Good-bye Days" written specifically for the film. The single is by far her highest selling at more than 200,000 copies sold. All three tracks on the single are featured in the "Midnight Sun." The single also re-released the track "It's Happy Line," originally released on her debut single.

Her next single, "I Remember You", did well in terms of sales, riding on the wave of the popularity of "Good-bye Days." Yui's seventh single "Rolling Star" was chosen as the 5th opening theme for the anime series Bleach. Her eighth single, "Cherry" was featured in commercial promoting KDDI au Listen Mobile Service.

She released her second album Can't Buy My Love on April 4, 2007. The album spending two weeks at number 1 on the Oricon charts, shattering her entire previous album's record sales in one week. Can't Buy My Love managed to sell over 680,000 copies. Due to the success of Can't Buy My Love, Yui's previous album, From Me to You charted once again, adding another 9,000 copies to the Oricon counting.

I Loved Yesterday (2007–2008)

Yui released her 9th single "My Generation/Understand" on June 13, 2007. It was her first double A-side single. "My Generation" was selected as the ending theme for the drama Seito Shokun!, and "Understand" was chosen as the theme song for the movie Dog in a Sidecar (サイドカーに犬), (starring her senpai at Stardust Promotion, Yūko Takeuchi). The single charted at number 1 on the Oricon Weekly Charts the first week of its release.

Her tenth single, "Love & Truth" was released on September 26, 2007. The title track is the theme song to the Japanese film, Closed Note (クローズド・ノート) (starring Erika Sawajiri, also of Stardust).

During this time, her previous two albums were re-released as Winter Sleeve Editions in alternate covers presumably from her "Love & Truth" photoshoot. Her first live concert DVD "Thank You My Teens" was released on November 14, 2007, which contained footage of her second live concert tour. On November 19, 2007, Yui opened her first live show at Nippon Budokan. The tickets for the concert sold out.

Yui started 2008 with her eleventh single, Namidairo, released on February 27, 2008. Yui composed the song as a "mysterious and sad sounding" insert for the television drama 4 Shimai Tantei Dan. The chorus of the song was incidentally written by YUI long ago, during her singing debut.

A week following the release of her 11th single, the promotional video of a new song "Laugh Away", was released. The song was used in Glico's "Watering KissMint" commercial. "Laugh Away" was released as a digital single on March 10, 2008.

Her third studio album was released on April 9, 2008 titled I Loved Yesterday. It quickly charted at number 1 on the Oricon Weekly Charts and sold more than 400,000 copies, only a little behind her sophomore album. The 10th track on the album, titled "Oh Yeah" was used as the opening theme to Mezamashi TV, a morning television show. The limited edition version of the album included DVD which contained music videos of her previous singles and live footage of her Nippon Budokan show.

Yui's third tour, named '"Oui": I Loved Yesterday' started in May 2008 and ran until July.

Yui released "Summer Song" on July 2, 2008, again charting at number 1 on Oricon Weekly Charts. "Summer Song" sold 83,440 copies in a week, making "Summer Song" second highest in first week sales after "Love & Truth."

My Short Stories (2008–Present)

Yui released her B-side compilation album, My Short Stories, released 12 November 2008, again charted at number 1 on Oricon. The album included all B-side tracks of all her singles to date, along with new song "I'll Be". Yui is the second female artist whose B-side compilation album topped the charts, after Seiko Matsuda's "Touch Me" in 1984. The last compilation album that reached #1 was Mr. Children's B-Side in May 2007. On the success of "My Short Stories", sales of her first album From Me to You rose again.

In her "Yui Diary" blog entry on August 29, 2008, Yui mentioned that she would put her career on hold, not making any public appearances after the release of the album. With this break, she would be able to fully concentrate on her plans for the next year. During this break, she co-wrote the song "I Do It" with Okinawan girl band Stereopony. It was released as Stereopony's third single on April 22, 2009.

Yui announced her return from her 5-month hiatus on March 25th on her official website. The single celebrating her return is an up-tempo tune titled "Again." The track was chosen as the first opening theme of the new season of the Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood anime series, premiered on April 5th, 2009. The single was released on June 3, 2009. "Again" debuted atop the Oricon charts, selling over 110,000 copies in its first week. It currently has the highest opening week sales for a female act in 2009.

On July 27, 2009, Yui-net.com announced the release of her second double-A side single named, "It's All Too Much/Never Say Die". The two songs featured for a movie version of an anime, Kaiji as a both a theme and an insert song. The single was released on October 7, 2009 and Kaiji released on October 10, 2009. The single debuted at #1, selling 75,000 copies in its first week of sales. This is her fifth overall number 1 single.

Yui released her new single "Gloria" on January 20, 2010. It was another chart-topper, selling 80,000 copies in the first week. Her next single, "to Mother," was released on June 2, 2010.

KAT-TUN

KAT-TUN (カトゥーン, Katūn) is a Japanese boy band formed by Johnny & Associates (Johnny's) in 2001. The group's name is an acronym based on the first letter of each member's family name (Kazuya Kamenashi, Jin Akanishi, Junnosuke Taguchi, Koki Tanaka, Tatsuya Ueda, Yuichi Nakamaru). Their debut on March 22, 2006 was marked by a tripartite release of a CD single, album and music DVD on their exclusive record label J-One Records. Since then, all of their single, album and music DVD releases have debuted at number one on the Oricon music and DVD charts.



History

2001–2005: Formation and pre-debut activities

Before becoming KAT-TUN, each member belonged to different trainee units within Johnny & Associates. In 2001, eight members were chosen to become a temporary dancing unit in order to support Koichi Domoto in the NHK music program, Pop Jam. The eight members were switched around before it officially became KAT-TUN, with the current six members. Although the formation was only meant to be a temporary support unit, KAT-TUN gained a great deal of attention and became solid unit.

In 2002, in response to many requests, KAT-TUN held their first concert called Okyakusama wa Kamisama - Concert 55man Nin Ai no Request ni Kotaete!! (お客様は神サマーConcert 55万人愛のリクエストに応えて!!?), in which 550,000 people tried to get tickets for the show. That same year, they performed eleven shows in a single day. This is the current record in Japan for the most performances in one day. Since then, KAT-TUN has held concerts in Japan almost every season.

In 2003-2004, their popularity rose to that of a debuted group, to the point where they performed on Music Station multiple times before debuting. In 2005, KAT-TUN released their first major DVD, KAT-TUN Live Kaizokuban (KAT-TUN Live海賊帆, lit. KAT-TUN Live: Pirate Sails?), which topped the Oricon yearly chart for the best-selling DVD. At the 20th Japan Gold Disc Awards, Live Kaizokuban placed on the Music Video Of The Year list.

2006: Debut and "Real Face"

On March 22, KAT-TUN released their debut single "Real Face", accompanied by an album, Best of KAT-TUN and a DVD Real Face Film. These were released on their own label J-One Records. The group also went on a nationwide tour, Live of KAT-TUN "Real Face", in support of the album. Within the first week, Best of KAT-TUN, "Real Face" and Real Face Film topped all three Oricon weekly charts by selling 556,548 copies, 754,234 copies and 374,202 copies respectively. They became the second artists to do so, the first being Ayumi Hamasaki. With these numbers, KAT-TUN holds the record for the highest weekly single debut sales (previously held by Arashi with their debut single "Arashi" of 557,000 copies sold in 1999). In addition, "Real Face" topped the Oricon charts for three weeks straight, becoming the first debut single to do so in Japan in 8 years 8 months since KinKi Kids' debut single "Garasu no Shōnen." The single sold over a million copies in nine weeks, making "Real Face" the highest selling single for the year 2006.

In March 2006, KAT-TUN became the first group to hold their own performances in Japan's most popular stadium, Tokyo Dome, before debuting. They performed to 110,000 people over two days and about 630,000 people in total during the tour. About three months after releasing "Real Face", KAT-TUN released their second single, "Signal", on July 19. As expected, it topped the Oricon weekly chart by exceeding 400,000 in sales.

On October 12, member Akanishi announced a hiatus from the group in order to study linguistics abroad in the United States, leaving KAT-TUN as a five-member group for six months.The remaining members continued activities by releasing their third single, "Bokura no Machi de" as the theme song to members Kamenashi and Tanaka's drama, Tatta Hitotsu no Koi and their second album, Cartoon KAT-TUN II You on December 7.

KAT-TUN is the first group in Japan to have all three singles from debut to exceed 500,000 in yearly sales, taking first, fifth and thirteenth place on the Oricon yearly singles chart.

2007: Cartoon KAT-TUN II You

Under the same name as their second album, KAT-TUN started their second nationwide tour, Tour 2007 Cartoon KAT-TUN II You, still without Akanishi, on April 3. The next day, KAT-TUN began to host their own variety show Cartoon KAT-TUN, which aired every Wednesday from 11:55 p.m. to 12:26 a.m.

Akanishi returned to Japan on April 19 and officially resumed work activities on April 20.Akanishi joined the rest of KAT-TUN during their tour on April 21 in Sendai for the encore, marking his official return to KAT-TUN.

On June 6, KAT-TUN released their fourth single, "Yorokobi no Uta", as the theme song to Tanaka's drama, Tokkyu Tanaka 3 Go. The single hit number one on the weekly chart.

On November 21, they simultaneously released their fifth single, "Keep the Faith", as the theme song to members Akanishi and Taguchi's drama, Yukan Club, and the DVD to their Tokyo Dome Live of KAT-TUN "Real Face" concert. The DVD marked their fifth consecutive release topping the Oricon musical DVD chart, and set the opening week record for the year.KAT-TUN took the annual number one position on the Oricon musical DVD charts for the third time in a row with the release.

After KinKi Kids, KAT-TUN is the second artist to have all singles since debut to exceed 300,000 in sales during their first week.

2008: Queen of Pirates

KAT-TUN released the theme song to Kamenashi's drama based on the manga One Pound Gospel as their sixth single on February 6.The single topped at number one on the Oricon charts.

KAT-TUN released their seventh single "Don't U Ever Stop" on May 14, which topped the weekly Oricon chart. On May 15, during the MC segment promoting "Don't U Ever Stop" on Music Station, Kamenashi announced that two shows had been added to their Tokyo Dome tourdates, resulting in a total of four consecutive days at the Dome. This marked a historic event in the Dome's history, as KAT-TUN became the first Japanese artist to hold four consecutive days at the stadium since it opened in 1988.Other Japanese artists, such as SMAP, X Japan and Ayumi Hamasaki have had three consecutive days at the Dome. The Rolling Stones and Michael Jackson have played multiple days at the Dome, but they were not consecutive.

On June 4, KAT-TUN released their third album, KAT-TUN III: Queen of Pirates.

On December 3, KAT-TUN released "White X'mas", their first Christmas single. The release consisted of a limited and regular edition, but both would only be sold during the holiday season. The single, with no drama tie-in and no B-side, still sold moderately well with more than 250,000 copies sold in its first week.

On December 21, it was announced that KAT-TUN would release a new single "One Drop" as a tie-in theme song to Kamenashi's new drama, Kami no Shizuku, just two months after their "White X'mas" single. The release consists of three versions: Limited Edition w/DVD, Regular Edition (First Press) and a Regular Edition.

2009: Break the Records: By You & For You

On January 1, it was announced that Kamenashi will continue starring in Dream Boys in September for thirty-eight shows. The stage show is expected to continue for six more years. In addition, KAT-TUN released KAT-TUN Live Tour 2008 Queen of Pirates DVD, featuring their last day of four in Tokyo Dome.

On February 11, KAT-TUN released "One Drop". It became KAT-TUN's ninth consecutive number one single since debut, selling 281,359 copies in its first week.

A month later, on March 11, KAT-TUN released "Rescue" for member Nakamaru's drama, Rescue: Tokubetsu Kodo Kyujotai. It became KAT-TUN's tenth consecutive number one single since debut, selling 322,597 copies in its first week. With this achievement KAT-TUN are now tied with NEWS for the second most consecutive number one singles from debut (Kinki Kids is number one with twenty-eight consecutive number one singles).A week after the release of "Rescue", it was revealed through their official website that KAT-TUN would be releasing their fourth studio album.

On April 1, the title of the album, Break the Records: By You & For You, as well as the track list for KAT-TUN's fourth studio album were released; the release of the album itself is slated for April 29.

It was announced on January 23 that KAT-TUN would hold seven consecutive concerts at Tokyo Dome, Japan's largest and most prestigious arena. Also, making KAT-TUN the first artists in history to do so. However, by the end of March, due to the large number of pre-reserved tickets, KAT-TUN's record breaking concert added extra tour dates. Making KAT-TUN's 2009 concert eight consecutive days in Tokyo Dome from May 15 to the 22, three days in Osaka from May 29 to the 31, and two more days in Tokyo Dome from June 14 to the 15. For a total of thirteen concert performances in two cities, and ten days in total for Tokyo Dome.

Sales for KAT-TUN's 8 consecutive days in Tokyo Dome concert went on sale on April 4. On the very same day all 440,000 seats were sold out.

On their last of the eight days at Tokyo Dome, it was announced that KAT-TUN would once again embark on another summer tour of Japan starting from July 7.

It was reported on May 24 that Johnny Kitagawa was after the acknowledgement of KAT-TUN's eight-day concerts at Tokyo Dome by the Guinness World Records company, for the record of the largest number of consecutive days at a stadium seating more than 50,000 spectators.

2010: International activities

On February 10, KAT-TUN released their first single since March 2009, which was used for Kamenashi's live-action drama adaptation of Tomoko Hayakawa's manga series Yamato Nadeshiko Shichihenge, which premiered January 15, 2010 on TBS. The single, "Love Yourself (Kimi ga Kirai na Kimi ga Suki)," debuted at number one on the Oricon weekly singles chart, resulting in KAT-TUN's 11th consecutive number one single since their debut.It became KAT-TUN's first single to sell more than 350,000 copies in its first week since the May 2008 release of their single "Don't U Ever Stop," which sold more than 381,000 copies in its first week.

On March 24, Johnny & Associates announced that KAT-TUN will go on their first Asia concert tour as a five-member group while Akanishi will hold his own solo concerts in Los Angeles, making him the first Johnny's artist to perform solo in the United States.KAT-TUN is set to have their Asia Tour from early May to late August and although the majority of the concerts will be held in Japan, KAT-TUN will also be heading to Bangkok on July 31, Seoul from August 6 to 7, and Taipei from August 27 to 28; other sources say that a Hawaii concert is also being considered.Due to his absence from KAT-TUN's Asia concert tour and single promotions, Akanishi did not participate in the recording of KAT-TUN's twelfth single "Going!" set for release on May 12.Due to the political unrest in Thailand, Johnny & Associates announced on May 15 that KAT-TUN's concert in Bangkok has been indefinitely postponed.

KAT-TUN is to release their first 2010 album, "No More Pain", on June 16, 2010.The album will have two versions, limited edition and regular. Both versions will include solo songs by each member. The limited edition will have 13 songs and also include a bonus DVD with PVs and Making-of's the songs in the album. The regular edition will have a bonus track, a total of 14 songs.

Photobook

KAT-TUN's first official photobook, entitled KAT-TUN 1st in New York (photographer Harumi Yoshimura) was published in December 2003 by Wani Books.

On August 31, 2009, KAT-TUN released their second official photobook entitled KAT-TUN Live Document Photobook: Break the Records, which documents their rehearsals, behind-the-scenes photos and concert photos; it also includes exclusive interviews with the members.

Other activities

TV shows

KAT-TUN had regularly appeared on NHK's Johnny's Jr. show The Shōnen Club and became the regular hosts and leaders of the show until 2006 when they made their official debut. From 2005 to January 2007, KAT-TUN was a regular participant in the variety show Utawara Hot Hit 10 with Jun Matsumoto. From April 4, 2007 to March 24, 2010, KAT-TUN hosted their own talk show Cartoon KAT-TUN every Wednesday.

Musicals

As a group, KAT-TUN has appeared in Koichi Domoto's Shock musical, Summary of Johnnys World with NEWS and Ya-ya-yah and the Dream Boy musicals from 2004 to 2006.

Concerts

Since their first concert in 2002, granted after overwhelming amounts of fan requests to Johnny's, KAT-TUN regularly holds concerts during almost every season of the year in Japan. This has helped them gain more popularity with their fans. It was considered remarkable for a Johnny's group which had not yet officially debuted to be able to hold its own concerts.

KAT-TUN was the first Japanese artist to perform for four days in a row at Tokyo Dome during their Queen of Pirates tour. The following year, they broke their own record becoming the first artists ever to perform for eight consecutive days at Tokyo Dome during their Break The Records: By You & For You 2009 tour. Now, Johnny & Associates submitted this new record to Guinness Book of World Records for KAT-TUN to be recognized as the Japanese boy band who broke the records in Tokyo Dome performances.

KAT-TUN regularly stars in TV commercials to endorse for NTT docomo, SKY PerfecTV!, Rohto and Lotte.

History

2005–2006: Early days and debut

AAA was originally planned to be a 6 member group. At first, members included Takahiro Nishijima, Naoya Urata, Shuta Sueyoshi, Shinjiro Atae, Mitsuhiro Hidaka and Misako Uno as the only girl. Avex later decided to add two more girls; Chiaki Itō and Yukari Goto. As songs like "Blood on Fire" and "Friday Party" were previously prepared for 6 members, the two girls are only heard in the refrain.

In the summer of 2005, avex announced the debut of a new pop/eurobeat group consisting of boys and girls who have undergone training in the avex artist academy, the record label's training facility for singers, dancers, and other entertainment talents. Because of this, the group's debut was much anticipated and was received well by many fans. In their debut year, they received the "Best Newcomer Award" at the 47th Japan Record Awards. From September to December they released a single each month plus a photobook and their very first album, Attack, in January 2006. With all the previous advertisement and releases the group did not have time to perform their songs live. However, as each of their singles has a different genre this did not cause a problem with sales.

Misako Uno, the female lead, starred alongside Sarah Michelle Gellar in the Hollywood version of The Grudge 2 in 2006. She played a one of the 3 school girls and all of her lines were in English. After releasing mini album All/2 on September 13, 2006, AAA released their second studio album All on January 1, 2007.

2007–present: Media mix and acting

AAA is also performing the opening for 2007's Kamen Rider, Kamen Rider Den-O and also for Delicious Gakuin. For this single, "Climax Jump," they have temporarily changed their name to AAA Den-O form. The single was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) for the shipment of 100,000 physical singles and 100,000 full-track ringtone music downloads (or Chaku Uta Full) each.

AAA appeared at Otakon 2007 in Baltimore, Maryland.

AAA had their first Oricon weekly number 1 single in 2008 with "Mirage." AAA also appeared on the theaters and Nishijima manifested interest in the acting. He appeared in the film Love Exposure, which was the first film for him to play the main role. He performed cross-dressing in the film and eventually won the Sponichi Grand Prix New Face Award of the year 2009 on January 19, 2010. AAA's new single "Aitai Riyū/Dream After Dream (Yume Kara Sameta Yume)" topped the Oricon weekly charts in May 2010, becoming their second number 1 single on the charts.

Buono!

Buono! is a Hello! Project unit consisting of three Hello! Project Kids members: Momoko Tsugunaga and Miyabi Natsuyaki from Berryz Koubou, and Airi Suzuki from °C-ute.

The unit was officially announced at the Nakayoshi magazine Festival 2007 on July 21, 2007, at Tokyo's Sunshine City in Ikebukuro, and formed to sing both the opening ("Kokoro no Tamago") and ending ("Honto no Jibun") themes for the anime adaptation of the Shugo Chara! manga
This unit was created for the Anime "ShugoChara!"

Miyabi Natsuyaki (夏焼 雅, Natsuyaki Miyabi?, born August 25, 1992 in Chiba Prefecture, Japan) is a Japanese pop singer. Her career began in 2002 when she successfully passed the audition for Hello! Project Kids, an all-female teen pop group under Hello! Project. Since then, she has continued to sing in that group and has become a part of two smaller groups composed of Hello! Project Kids members—Aa! and Berryz Kobo.
On July 21, 2007, it was announced that Natsuyaki will be in a new unit with Airi Suzuki and Momoko Tsugunaga called Buono!.

Airi Suzuki (鈴木 愛理, Suzuki Airi?), born April 12, 1994 in Gifu but raised in Chiba, Japan, is a Japanese pop singer and currently member of idol groups °C-ute and Hello! Project Kids. Both of her parents, Touru and Kyoko Suzuki, are professional golfers, although her mother had already retired.
In 2002, Suzuki participated and passed, along with 14 other girls, the audition of Hello! Project Kids after performing Kimochi wa Tsutawaru by BoA. She made her first appearance in the entertainment industry as a member of 4Kids, a temporary group that appeared in Mini Moni's movie Mini Moni ja Movie: Okashi na Daibōken!, which was released in early 2003.

Later in the same year, Suzuki was assigned to another temporary group Aa! along with Reina Tanaka from Morning Musume and fellow Hello! Project Kids member Miyabi Natsuyaki. Their lone single, First Kiss, was released on October 29, 2003. By the time of the release, she was 9 years, 6 months and 17 days old and was the youngest lead singer on any Hello! Project single. She was assigned as a member of ℃-ute, whose formation was announced on June 11, 2005, along with seven other Hello! Project Kids members. Furthermore, it was announced on July 21, 2007 that Suzuki will participate in a new unit named Buono! with Momoko Tsugunaga and Miyabi Natsuyaki from Berryz Kobo.

Buono!2 (read as "Buono! Buono!") is the second album from the J-pop idol group, Buono!. The album was released on February 11, 2009, under the Pony Canyon label, in a regular version and a limited edition version. The regular edition (catalog number PCCA-02840) comes with a Buono! photocard while the limited edition (PCCA-02839) includes a different photocard and a DVD.
